Advice on Treatment

homeopathy1The Remedies

If you are given extra remedies store them in a cool, dark place away from strong smells or electronic equipment. Avoid taking anything by mouth for 10-15 minutes before or after taking your remedy, this includes cigarettes and toothpaste. If your remedy is in tablet form tip it into your mouth without touching it, if possible, and allow it to dissolve under your tongue. Liquid remedies, or LMs, will be supplied with instructions.

If you have questions please contact me.

My normal phone in times are 9-9.30am Monday and Wednesday.

Do not discontinue any prescribed drugs without discussing it with your doctor. Ideally avoid self prescribing any other form of medicine, homeopathic, herbal or otherwise without checking first.
Some non-medicinal substances that have been known to interfere with the action of homeopathic remedies are mint and coffee. It is best to try to avoid these and use non-mint toothpaste, especially for a few days after taking your remedy.
Consider avoiding the use of antiperspirants as they interfere with the body’s natural attempts to detoxify. Deodorants are a healthier alternative.
Remedies can be administered to infants either by crushing the tablets between two spoons, or by dissolving the tablets in a small amount of cooled boiled water and giving in liquid form.

Your Treatment

As part of the healing process some people may experience a “homoeopathic aggravation”, a term which describes a short-lived slight worsening of symptoms. Your remedy can also sometimes promote a physical or emotional cleansing response, which may take the form of a cold, or flu-like symptoms, diarrhoea or an emotional discharge such as tears or anger. This is the body’s own healing response and a sign that treatment is going well. Symptoms should not last long and it is best if they are allowed to happen without interference.
Sometimes symptoms from the past can also return fleetingly and will usually soon disappear of their own accord.
If in any doubt or discomfort please contact me for advice.
When you attend your follow-up appointments it will be very useful if you have kept a record of anything at all that you have felt including any strange dreams, sensations or unusual memories from the past.
In the event of acute illness for which you feel you may need medical help please phone for advice. Your long-term treatment will be enhanced by appropriate management of acute illness.

My Availability

My normal phone in times are 9-9.30am Monday and Wednesday. Outside of these times, more often than not you will have to leave me a message if you ring, but I will get back to you as soon as I can. It is fine to email me at mandyhall50@hotmail.co.uk, but please do not text as these tend to get forgotten and valuable information is not copied into your case file.
When I am unavailable I will usually suggest that you contact The Homoeopathic Helpline on 09065 343404, available from 9am until midnight throughout the year. Calls cost £1.50 a minute but advice is very prompt.
If I am away for long periods I will endeavour to supply locum cover.
Appropriate instructions will be on my answer message on 07795 251803.
